• Ashe Menon, vice president of global manufacturing for NOV Grant Prideco in the Wellbore Technologies segment, was recently featured in Smart Industry’s 2017 “50 Digital Innovators” list. His team, which collaborates with other groups in Corporate Engineering, has been responsible for using digital technology to improve the performance of the company’s industrial assets and manufacturing operations.

“This really is a group effort,” said Menon, who is known around the Navasota facility for his ‘Coffee with Ashe’ meetings, where he answers questions and gets to know his employees better. “I get way too much credit for stuff other people do, so much so that my real title should be Chief Credit Manager, and am truly blessed to always be surrounded by amazing teams.”

Ashe researches ways of integrating digital technology to increase efficiency, improve quality, and reduce downtime, all of which combine to reduce NOV’s total cost of manufacturing and customers’ total cost of ownership. He understands that innovation in the digital space will be increasingly critical as the industry continues to evolve, but emphasizes that people are NOV’s greatest differentiator. “Having driven employees and engaging their potential to learn and grow,” he concludes, “are what really moves the business forward.”
